Board/Committee HARNETT COUNTY COUNCIL FOR WOMEN Authorization Function To act as an advocate for women and as a resource of information on the status of women in Harnett County to the Harnett County Board of Commissioners by (1) identifying and assessing needs of Harnett County women; (2) cooperating with groups and individuals involved in activities on status of women; (3) providing information to the Harnett County Board of Commissioners on issues of high interest to women in Harnett County for consideration of public support, or program funding, and/or passage of laws; (4) preparing and distributing to the Harnett County Board of Commissioners an annual report to that body no later than April 30 (or as needed); (5) to work toward expanding equal opportunities for women in employment and education. Members 17 Alternates 0 Term Length 3 Meeting Time Meeting Schedule Meeting Place Special Requirements Membership is open to any person who desires to join the council and elects to pay annual membership dues as set by advisory board.
