Upcoming Public Hearings

The Harnett County Board of Commissioners is committed to providing the county’s citizens with opportunities to make their voices heard during the decision-making process. Public hearings on certain agenda items provide one such opportunity. Details about upcoming public hearings are listed on this page. In addition to these public hearings, citizens have an opportunity to address the Board of Commissioners at each regular meeting during an informal period for public comments. During this public comment period, citizens may speak on any issue they wish for three minutes, so long as their comments are respectful of others.

Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Pre-Budget Public Comment Period
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners will hold a pre-budget public comment period at the regular meeting on April 15 at 6pm. Citizens are invited to provide feedback and make suggestions on the County's upcoming Fiscal year 2019-2020 budget. The meeting will take place in the County Administration Building, located at 420 McKinney Parkway, Lillington.
 
NW Area Study Public Hearing
A public hearing will be held by the Harnett County Board of Commissioners in the Assembly Room of the County Administration Building located at 420 McKinney Parkway in Lillington, NC at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019. The purpose of this hearing is to hear the views of the residents of Harnett County on the proposed New Harnett County Northwest Area Plan.  Information may be viewed at the Harnett County Planning Office, 108 E. Front St., Lillington, NC during regular business hours of 8:00am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday at http://www.harnett.org/planning/current-petitions.asp

Harnett County Northwest Area Plan-Harnett County Development Services & Stewart, Inc. request adoption of the proposed new Harnett County Northwest Area Plan.  The purpose of this small area plan is to provide a framework to guide appropriate development within a high growth area while maintaining the rural character, environmental quality, and enhancing livability of the area.
