Harnett County Health Department is now providing state supplied flu vaccine for children. In order to receive state supplied flu vaccine, children must meet one of the following criteria:
- All children 6 months through 59 months of age;
- All high-risk children 6 months through 18 years of age;
- Any child (6 months through 18 years of age) that is a household contact of:
- Any child aged 0 through 59 months or
- Any high-risk child or adult.
The ACIP recommends that children 6 months through 8 years of age, who have not been previously vaccinated with influenza vaccine, should receive two doses of vaccine, 30 days apart.
