Harnett CARES

Harnett CARES (Community AIDS Resources, Education, & Support)

Harnett CARES is a local HIV/AIDS community task force. It formed in 2004 to help address the needs of those living with HIV/AIDS in Harnett County.

The mission of Harnett CARES is to promote awareness, education, and fundraising for HIV/AIDS in Harnett County and to support individuals, families, and the community who are infected and affected by this disease.

Harnett CARES invites anyone interested in furthering this mission to join the task force. Individuals, organizations, fraternities, sororities, churches, etc. are welcome!

Programs and Activities:

· Sponsors Annual World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil

· Sponsors Annual Community Talent Showcase in observance of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

· Partners with local organizations to provide HIV testing upon request

· Partners with local organizations to provide HIV educational programs upon request

· Compiles and updates local HIV/AIDS Resource Guide

Harnett CARES meets monthly at Triangle South Enterprise Center, 600 South Magnolia Avenue, Dunn. Meetings are held at 3:30 p.m.
