Healthy Harnett

Harnett County has convened a Healthy Harnett partnership

of several organizations, community members, hospitals, health department, community college, head start, rural health centers, community based organizations and others, which have begun to identify the health care needs in Harnett County.

The Healthy Harnett partnership ultimately benefits the community, from coordinated efforts and services.

The Healthy Harnett members recently attended a training session “Revitalizing Your Healthy Carolinians” which was conducted by Tom Milroy, Regional Consultant from the Office of Healthy Carolinians. http://www.healthycarolinians.org/assess.htm

Since the training session, members have identified two priority areas for the partnership to address. These areas include Access specifically access to prescription drugs and Chronic disease with a focus on Diabetes. These two areas were also based on the most recent community assessment. Currently the Healthy Harnett Partnership meets monthly at the Harnett County Department of Public Health.
