HIV/STD Testing

The Harnett County Department of Public Health provides free and confidential testing for

HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Testing is available 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday in Lillington by appointment.

Please call (910) 893-7550 for an appointment.

Why is testing so important?

The only way for a person to know if he or she has a STD including HIV is to be tested. You cannot tell by looking at someone if he or she has a STD. Often, people who have STDs do not know themselves that they are infected because they have no symptoms, or they may mistake their symptoms for something else. People infected with STDs, including HIV may look and feel healthy.

Visit the National HIV and STD Testing Resources website at http://www.hivtest.org/ to get your questions about HIV and STD testing answered.
