Harnett County Health Department encourages you to follow-up with your primary care provider or the Health Department to make sure your child’s immunizations are up to date. Remember to bring your child’s immunization record to all medical visits to avoid long waits while staff try to request records from other provider offices. Bringing your child’s immunization record to all visits will also prevent your child from possibly repeating vaccines.
Children birth through 18 years of age who meet at least one of the following criteria are eligible for Vaccines For Children (VFC) vaccines:
· Medicaid eligible
· American Indian/Alaskan Native
Underinsured children are children who have commercial (private) health insurance but the coverage does not include vaccines; children whose insurance covers only selected vaccines; or children whose insurance caps coverage at a certain amount.
For those clients that do not qualify for VFC vaccines, providers will use private purchased vaccines and the client’s insurance will be filed.
Child Health Immunization Clinic hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 11:00 am and 1:00 pm– 4:00 pm. No appointment is needed for immunizations.
