Lotes Lee Holmes

Lotes was the third son of Thomas N and Lillian and was born in November 1926. He was named Zelotes for his grandfather.  He graduated from Benhaven, back when North Carolina only had 11 grades of school.  He served in the US Navy during World War n. He married Imogene Ladd in 1950 and they have four children, Claudia, who is now a teacher and is married to Tim Shannon, and they have a son Sean and live in Marietta, Ga.  Robert is in landscape gardening in Decatur, Ga.  He married Ann Ritter and they have two children Ben and Susannah. Ronald, who is also in landscape gardening in Southern Pines and is with the Southern Landscape Group and is the only child remaining in Harnett County.  He married Vivian Smith of the Anderson Creek Community and they have two children: Laura and Patrick.  Rickard, who is with Astro Power in Wilmington, Delaware.  He married Kris Hazard and they have two children, Elisabeth and Blythe.

Lotes went to work at Overhills in 1953 and worked there for twenty-eight years before retiring.  He left there as manager of Overhills, and moved to Lillington and after a few months of retirement, he began work at Campbell's golf course and was then transferred to the Physical Plant, where he is a Supervisor for Plant Services.

Lotes was an Elder in the church in the Spring Lake area, for over 15 years.  After moving to Lillington, they joined the Lillington Presbyterian Church and he has served two terms of eldership here, as well as teaching Sunday School, and serving on the Men's Fellowship Group.  He has always sung in the church choir where they worship.  Lotes also served on the Fayetteville Presbytery committees.

He served on the Airport Board from its beginning and retired after 15 years.
