Storytime will resume on September 5th
Welcome to Story Time at the Harnett County Public Library! Our goal is to provide parents an opportunity to introduce their children to reading and language in a fun way. Not only does story time serve to spark your child’s desire for good literature, it can also help stretch their attention spans, improve their listening skills, as well as promote the library as an enjoyable place where learning is fun.
The Harnett County Library offers three weekly story times:
Preschool Story Time
Wednesdays at 11:00
Thursdays at 11:00
Preschool story times are created especially for children 3-5 years of age. They typically last between 45 minutes to 1 hour and include stories, flannel boards, fingerplays, puppets, and songs as well as other developmentally appropriate activities. A craft activity is provided at the end of the program as well as a snack treat during holidays and other special events.
Toddler Story Time
Thursdays at 10:00
Toddler story times are created especially for children ages 18 months-2 years of age. They typically last between 30-45 minutes and include repetitive stories, flannel boards, fingerplays, puppets, and songs as well as other activities with a toddler’s shorter attention span in mind. A simple craft activity at the end of the program as well as a snack treat during holidays and other special events will be provided.
