Historic Properties Commission

The Historic Properties Commission is the newest addition to Harnett County’s list of boards. The Harnett County Board of Commissioners is currently in the process of establishing the board. This site will be updated as more information becomes available.

The Historic Properties Commission will hear the following items in accordance with the Harnett County Historic Preservation Ordinance:

• Applications for Historic Landmarks
• Applications for Historic Districts
• Applications for Certificates of Appropriateness

The Historic Properties Commission will consist of five (5) members, each serving terms of three (3) years. Members will be appointed by the Harnett County Board of Commissioners. For information on applying for membership, complete and return an application to the County Administration Department, or contact them directly at (910) 893-7555. THERE IS CURRENTLY ONE (1) OPEN SEAT ON THIS COMMISSION. WE ENCOURAGE THOSE WITH EXPERIENCE AND/OR INTEREST IN THIS SUBJECT TO APPLY.
