Integrity Program

The Harnett County Program Integrity Unit consists of two Certified Investigators, with combined experience of over 36 years. Harnett County has enjoyed many successes in this Program. We remain in the top counties throughout the State for Collections.

Harnett County Program Integrity is continuing to find new and innovative ways to discover fraud in the programs the agency administers. Through these efforts, we have been able to save taxpayers thousands of dollars each month by stopping abuse before it starts or preventing further abuse of Social Services Programs.

Harnett County Program Integrity has always taken an aggressive approach to collections. We have a monthly and quarterly billing system that helps the agency in the collection rate on delinquent accounts. All delinquent accounts are subject to State and Federal tax intercept. During FY 2010/2011, the unit collected over $165,000 in cash payments and over $102,000 in recoupment through benefit reduction.
