QWhat is a property tax exclusion form and who is entitled to receive this benefit?
A

The property tax exclusion is currently for the amount of $45,00.00. Veterans that are 100% service connected disabled or receiving Individual Unemployability AND who are considered to be PERMANENT and TOTAL by the Department of Veterans Affairs are eligible to receive this benefit. Widows/Widowers that are receiving DIC (Dependency Indemnity Compensation) payments are also eligible.


QWhat are our office hours?

The office hours are Monday thru Friday from 8-12 & 1-5. The office closes each day from 12pm until 1pm.


QCan anyone in this office sign my property tax exculsion form?
A

No only Winston-Salem Regional Office personnel can sign these forms, however we can mail the forms to the appropriate place on your behalf.


QAm I entitled to a veterans ID card?
A

ID cards are issued by the VA Health Care system to veterans that are enrolling in the health care system. Once entitlement is established an ID card will be issued.


QHow can I get an ID card for commissary and exchange privileges on military installations?
A

Veterans that are 100% disabled or under Individual Unemployability AND must be PERMANENT and TOTAL will be entitled to receive an ID card for on base privileges.
