Governor's One-on-One Volunteer Program Governor's One-on-One Volunteer Program is part of a State-wide initiative that has promoted the development of adult volunteer programs in this county since 1984.
We create friendships. Friendships between adult volunteers and youth who want and need an adult's caring, teaching, and sharing. We match a caring and supportive adult friend with a troubled youth who needs encouragement and special direction while growing up. The overall goals of our program are to help youth become responsible, contributing members of the community, to help them better cope with negative situations, and give them a sense of belonging, self-esteem and love!
