Bringing home a new baby is an exciting time for a family! After you arrive home, you may find you have questions about the care of your baby as well as questions regarding care for yourself as a new mother. While babies bring us lots of joy and happiness, the first couple of weeks after a baby has been born can be hectic and confusing, especially for a new mother.
To help mothers and babies make the most of those first few weeks, the Health Department is offering the “Welcome Baby” program which is a one-time home visit by a Registered Nurse for all new babies in Harnett County.
The “Welcome Baby” program provides a nurse that will come to your home to make sure you and your baby are doing well. The visit is covered by Medicaid insurance plans. For more information or to request a home visit, contact the Health Department at 910-893-7550 and ask for the Welcome Baby program.
