Animal Shelter Hosts Clear the Shelter Event

 

Adoption fees waived August 22 through 27

In support of National Clear the Shelter initiative, Harnett County Animal Services will waive adoption fees for all animals at the Harnett County Animal Shelter Monday, August 22 through Saturday, August 27.

The Animal Shelter is located at 1100 McKay Place in Lillington.

“Clear the Shelter” is a nationwide initiative that raises awareness about the many animals that are in need of a forever home and encourages residents to clear their local animal shelters.

The fee waiver includes all regular adoption fees, with the exception of an $18 charge for medicine for the adopted pet.

The Harnett County Animal Shelter offers canines and felines of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. The shelter will be open on the following days for adoptions.  

  • Tuesday, August 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday, August 26 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A rabies clinic will also be held on Friday, August 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Harnett County Animal Shelter. The rabies shot will cost $5 per animal and only cash will be accepted for payment.
