About the Resource Center & Library
Harnett County is one of the fastest growing counties in, not only in North Carolina, but in the United States. To meet these growth demands, Harnett County is building the Harnett County Resource Center and Library, to be located in the Harnett County Government Complex in Lillington next to the courthouse. The Harnett County Resource Center and Library will:
This new 55,767-square-foot building will be located in the Harnett County Government Complex between the Tax Office/GIS/Register of Deeds building and the Health Department. This project also includes an expansion of the current Harnett County Department of Social Services building along with improvements that will make travel through the Government Complex more convenient and improve safety in the complex and on McKinney parkway.
We envision the Harnett County Resource Center & Library as a hub that will connect citizens to the resources they need to grow and thrive. The facility will allow the County to provide enhanced programming and learning opportunities as well as substantial training and event space. Work has begun on the Harnett County Resource Center & Library, which is expected to open to the public in early 2021.
A groundbreaking ceremony has been scheduled for October 29, 2019, at 11 a.m. and County officials anticipate completion of the project in early 2021.
