Book a reservation

HARTS is a Community Transportation program that serves the public as well as human service agencies for medical, personal, employment, and education trips.

Operating hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

HARTS provides transportation through Dial-A-Ride and Demand-Response service trips. As a paratransit and ridesharing public transportation system, HARTS structures routes and schedules to transport as many different passengers as possible using various fare types and destinations.

 HARTS transit service is Curb-to-Curb. Curb-to-Curb means a service that picks up and delivers passengers at the curb or roadside, as distinguished from door-to-door. Escorts are permitted to ride as an extension of the passengers provided they offer assistance to the passenger to perform at least one major life function i.e., walking, talking, reading, lifting, etc.

 

 

Reservations:

To book a reservation, contact the HARTS operator at (910) 814-4019.

 Reservations are accepted between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., M-F but at least two business days prior to the requested date of the trip. Your pick-up time depends on routing, vehicle and seat availability. HARTS, a public transit system, must accommodate many trips throughout the day thus all trips are based upon availability. If we have a vehicle that can deliver you to your requested location at the requested time, then we will add you to the schedule. If we do not have a vehicle whose schedule permits this, your trip will be denied. Please call the office between the hours of 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to verify your trip details and confirm availability.

When requesting an in-county trip our operators will have to start heading back to the Transit Center by 4:00 pm. All trips based upon routing/vehicle/seating availability, therefore, we suggest you call the day before your scheduled pick-up between the hours of 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm to ensure your booked trip is available and reserved. The van can arrive up to 2 hours before your appointment time. 

When requesting an out-of-county medical trip, schedule your appointment time between the hours of 8:30 am-11:00 am. Transit operators must begin the return trip back to the Transit Center by 1:00 pm. The van can arrive up to 3 hours before your appointment time.
