To apply and file for unemployment insurance benefits visit www.des.nc.gov or call 1 (888) 737-0259. The NCWorks Career Center is not an “unemployment office,” and we do not process Unemployment Insurance claims. We do assist unemployed/underemployed jobseekers with job search assistance and creating an account to file an unemployment insurance claim. When applying for unemployment insurance, individuals must also register with www.ncworks.gov and create an account or update an existing account. Customers are always welcome to visit the Career Center in person with a staff person for all service needs with a smile.
