The objective of the Harnett County Parks and Recreation Department is to provide with the assistance of volunteer community organizations, and other local, state, and federal agencies, a broad and comprehensive program of leisure recreational opportunities and facilities for all citizens regardless of age or disability within budgetary limitations.
Harnett County Parks and Recreation program and rental registration is now electronic! Below are the steps to create your account and register online:
Click the link here to reach the Registration Portal
Click on “New Account” in the upper right hand corner of the page
Fill out the required fields to set up your account
To sign up for programs like Summer Day Camp and Afterschool Care, you can register your children by adding them as “Dependents” under your account profile
To access this, after you login, click “Profile” in the upper right hand corner of the home page and scroll down to the “Relationships/Dependents” section and select “Add”
After completing this, their names/ages will appear for any registrations in a drop down box for selection when selecting a program to add to your cart
You are now setup to register for programs through the Portal and can even pay by credit card!
Select “Browse Classes” for program registrations
Select “Browse Facilities” and to initiate a request for a facility rental (picnic shelter, ballfield, etc.)
To request a rental of a facility, field, or shelter:
Select “Browse Facilities” on the main portal page
Select your desired rental date under the “Available Date” section and your desired Location under the “Location” drop down box on the Facility Browse page and hit the green magnifying glass
Find your facility and select “Register” to the right
Please note that for picnic pavilions at Anderson Creek Park and Barbecue Creek Park, you should select the “Hourly” option unless you are planning on booking for an entire day (in which you would select the “Full Day” option)
Select your desired start time and end time at the bottom of the page, enter # of attendees, check the terms and conditions box in the upper right hand corner and select “Add to Cart”
Continue through the process until you receive the option to “Pay Later”; select it
You will receive a copy of your request; Please give our staff approximately three (3) business days to review your request and we will notify you of you approval or denial, and will contact you for payment.
Approved rentals can be paid for by Credit Card over the phone, or under your online profile under the “Invoices” section
Payment by cash or check must be made either in person at our main office during business hours, or by mail to our PO Box (info below)

The annual Senior Bus Trip for the NC State Fair will leave from the parking lot of the Harnett County Department of Social Services at 8 AM on Tuesday, Oct. 22nd, 2019. Attendees will board the bus again and depart from the State Fair at 3 PM that afternoon, and everyone will have returned to the Department of Social Services parking lot around 4 PM that evening. The trip is free for Harnett County Senior Citizens, but space is limited and you must call to reserve your spot at (910) 893-7518, or email Drew Bryant at email@example.com, beginning September 3rd, 2019.
We are happy to announce, in partnership with the Harnett County Public Library, the return of Storytime in the Park at Anderson Creek Park!
Storytime in the park will return on Friday, April 26th at 10:30 AM and will run each subsequent Friday at the same time underneath the picnic shelter. The last day of storytime for the season will be September 27. Children of all ages are welcome!
