2021 Great Backyard Bird Count Programs

🐦🦅🦉 Each February, for four days, the world comes together for the love of birds. Harnett County Cooperative Extension, in partnership with Harnett County Parks & Recreation, will present two programs associated with the 2021 Great Backyard Bird Count.

👉On February 11 at 7 PM, Harnett County Cooperative Extension will conduct a virtual Zoom event that will teach you how to attract birds to your backyard and how to participate in the 2021 Great Backyard Bird Count. Registration for this Zoom program is unlimited.

👉The second program will be an in-person expert-led bird counting experience that takes place on February 13 at 7:00 AM at the Cape Fear Shiner Park in Lillington. This is an outdoor experience so dress appropriately for the weather and be sure to wear sturdy shoes. If you have binoculars, please bring them, as we will not be sharing them due to COVID protocols. Each participant will be screened upon arrival. If you are not feeling well, please do not come. Social distancing will be observed. This event is limited to the first 20 respondents and numbers could change depending on changing COVID concerns. A waiting list will be maintained.
