Elmore Honored with M.H. "Jack" Brock Memorial Award

Congratulations to Harnett County Commissioner Abe Elmore, who was presented with the M.H. "Jack" Brock Memorial Award last night during the Mid-Carolina Council of Governments (COG) annual meeting. The award is given "in recognition of continued and exemplary dedication and service to local government as an elected county official."

Elmore received the award for his many contributions to the local community, region and State of North Carolina, through his many years of public service and civic involvement, and his career and generosity as a successful businessman. The award was presented by Mid-Carolina COG Executive Director Jim Caldwell, along with Harnett County Board of Commissioners Chairman Gordon Springle, who serves on the Mid-Carolina COG Board of Directors.

Jack Brock was a past Harnett County Board of Commissioners Chairman and former Harnett County Manager who was instrumental in founding the Mid-Carolina Council of Governments along with Emsley Kennedy Jr. and Mr. Elmore. The M.H. "Jack" Brock Memorial Award is given each year to an outstanding elected county official from Cumberland, Harnett or Sampson counties.
