Veterans Services is here to assist the veteran and their families with a variety of benefits. Our service officers are accredited with the State of North Carolina and can assist you in filing claims, disagreements and appeals. We also can help you with education benefits, home loan guaranty, ordering records and DD-214's. Our office can sign your MVR-33 requests and the hunting and fishing license. We look froward to assiting you.

2019 Veterans Day Parade Entry Application

Harnett County Veterans Council will be hosting a Veterans Day Parade on Monday, November 11, 2019. Organizations are encouraged to participate in this year's parade. To sign up, complete the Veterans Day Parade Entry application. Applications can be submitted to harnettcountyveteransdayparade@gmail.com. The deadline to submit a parade entry application is Friday, October 25. For more information on this year's Veterans Day parade, contact Mary Waters, Veterans Day Parade Chair at 910-257-6251.

Harnett County Veterans Wall of Honor

Harnett County will be displaying a Veterans Wall of Honor at the new Harnett County Resource Center & Library.  The Veterans Wall of Honor will provide an opporutnity to commemorate Harnett County veterans and honor those individuals for their service to our Country and Community through Education, Medical, Political and or community impact. Nominations can be made for an individual who served in any of our 5 military branches.

To submit a nomination, complete the Wall of Honor nomination form. Nomination forms will be accepted November 11, 2019 through November 11, 2020. All nomination forms can be emailed to Amy Noel at anoel@harnett.org or sent to Harnett County Veteran Services, P. O. Box 232, Lillington, NC 27546. Nomination forms can also be dropped off at the Veterans Services Office, located at 817 South 8t hStreet, Lillington, NC 27546. 

Nomination Criteria

  • Time frame: WWI and forward
  • Discharge: Honorable only
  • Rank: Nominee can be of any rank
  • Residency: Must have been or be a Harnett County Resident
  • Residency Criteria: Born in Harnett County or have been established as a resident for 5 years
  • Nominee can be living or deceased.
  • Nomination is for service to Country and Community through Education, Medical, Political and or community impact.
