Foundation Forward, Inc., a non-profit educational organization, will host a Charters of Freedom Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. to celebrate a new historical monument installation at Harnett County Veterans Park, location at the Harnett County Government Complex in Lillington.

The new Charters of Freedom will display:

• The Declaration of Independence
• The United States Constitution
• The Bill of Rights
• The Civil Rights Amendments

Harnett County is the 71^st Charter of Freedom setting across the country and the 43^rd in the state of North Carolina by Foundation Forward.

“We are honored that Foundation Forward selected Harnett County as a site to display the historic installations. We are grateful to Foundation Forward for their generosity in providing these meaningful replicas at no cost to the County and providing our community with the opportunity to learn about the United States Charters of Freedom. They are a great addition to our Veterans Park,” said Brent Trout, Harnett County Manager.

Foundation Forward’s mission is to install Charters of Freedom settings in easily accessible locations so communities can view these founding documents in a proper setting without having to incur the costs of traveling to Washington, D.C. 

The dedication ceremony is free and open to the public.
