Harnett County Board of Commissioners Seeks Public Feedback on Potential Meeting Time Changes

Friday, September 19, 2025

The Harnett County Board of Commissioners is inviting residents to provide feedback on a potential change to the Board’s meeting times. An online survey is open now through Monday, October 27, 2025, to gather public input on whether one of the Board’s monthly meetings should be moved from the morning to the evening.

At the meeting on September 15, 2025, the Board discussed the possibility of adjusting one of its morning meetings to an evening to make meetings more accessible to residents. Currently, the Board meets as follows:

  • Regular Meetings: 1st Monday of each month at 9:00 am and 3rd Monday of each month at 6:00 pm (voting meetings that include public comment period).
  • Work Sessions: Twice monthly, the Tuesday prior to a Regular Meeting at 9:00 am (information-based, no public comment period).

The Board is seeking input on whether residents would like to see an additional evening meeting and, if so, which meeting would be most beneficial to move.

Work Session Meetings are primarily for receiving reports, presentations, and information from County departments, while Regular Meetings include both voting items and opportunities for public comment.

Residents are encouraged to complete the brief survey and share their thoughts on this proposed change.

Please complete the survey here.
