The Harnett County Cooperative Extension invites the community to join in celebrating Farm City Week, scheduled for November 14-20, 2025. This year makes the 70th national anniversary of Farm City Week, which celebrates farmers and highlights the role that agriculture plays in our local, state, and national economies.

Cooperative Extension has planned a full week of activities for residents of all ages to enjoy and is encouraging the community to save the dates.

Farm City Week schedule includes:

  • November 14: Baking Competition
  • November 15: Ag Day
  • November 19: Farm Fresh Breakfast
  • November 20: Awards Banquet

Additional activities throughout the week include Hay Bale Decorating Contest, Farm to Canvas Art Competition, and the Young Ag Entrepreneur nomination.

“We’re marking 70 years of Farm City Week with a week-long celebration! Bring your best baking, enjoy family Ag Day, savor the Farm Fresh Breakfast, and join us for a banquet to remember,” said Shannon Adcock, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent with Cooperative Extension.

Harnett County Cooperative Extension encourages residents to save the dates, participate in the activities, and help spread the word. This family-fun event has something for everyone.

Agriculture is Harnett County’s leading industry, ranking top 30 statewide for cotton, hay, soybeans, sweet potatoes, tobacco, broilers, and hogs. The County also ranks 14th among North Carolina’s 100 counties in total farm income.
