Harnett County’s Christine Wallace Named Assessor of the Year

Picture of Christine Wallace holding her awardHarnett County’s Tax Administrator Christine Wallace has been named the 2025 North Carolina Assessor of the Year by the North Carolina Association of Assessing Officers (NCAAO). This marks the first time Harnett County has received this statewide honor.

The NCAAO is a professional organization representing state and county assessing officials working to achieve and maintain a high level of performance in property tax assessment administration through professionalism, education, and communication.

Wallace has been an active member of the NCAAO since 2020, demonstrating outstanding leadership and a commitment to serving the residents of Harnett County.

Each year, the North Carolina Association of Assessing Officers seeks to nominate the Assessor of the Year in order to recognize outstanding achievement in tax administration and public service. 

“I am proud to represent Harnett County with the Assessor of the Year award. It is an incredible honor, and I am grateful to my colleagues, our county leadership, and the community we serve. This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team to fairness, transparency, and excellence in public service,” said Wallace.

Wallace has over 26 years of experience working for Harnett County government, serving as a Tax Assistant/Paralegal, GIS Technician, Real Property Appraiser, and Assistant Tax Administrator.

Harnett County would like to congratulate Mrs. Wallace for this exceptional recognition and commitment to serving our community.
