Building Inspections, a Division under Development Services, provides plan review for residential, commercial and industrial projects and enforces the North Carolina State Building Codes as adopted by the Building Code Council through the engineering division of the NC Department of Insurance. All building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and manufactured housing and modular units are scheduled and inspected by this department.
