Recovery

Recovery

During the recovery period, restoration efforts occur concurrently with regular operations and activities. The recovery period from a disaster can be prolonged. Some normal actions taken during recovery from a disaster or emergency include the restoration of basic services and the repair of physical, social and economic damages. Examples of recovery activities include:

  • Debris Cleanup
  • Financial Assistance to Individuals, businesses and governments
  • Rebuilding of roads and bridges to regain transportation services
  • Rebuilding of infrastructure and key facilities
  • Sustained mass care for displaced populations
  • Preventing or reducing stress-related illnesses and excessive financial burdens
  • Rebuilding damaged structures based on advanced knowledge obtained from the preceding disaster
  • Reducing vulnerability to future disasters

Recovering from disaster can be a difficult process.  We are here to help!  Through public, private, and volunteer partnerships, we have the resources you need to get back on your feet.  Below are some resources that may be helpful during the recovery process.
