The Board of Health is the primary policy-making and adjudicatory body for the Health Department and is charged to protect and promote the public health of Harnett County.

The Board is mandated by state law and is composed of professionals representing specified health related fields in addition to several at-large members and attend regularly scheduled meetings. 

North Carolina General Statutes defines both the responsibilities and the composition of local boards of health. Board of Health members must meet certain qualifications [NCGS 130a-35b)] and are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.

Regular Meetings are held (unless otherwise noted) at Harnett County Health Department located at 307 W. Cornelius Harnett Blvd. Lillington, NC 27546 at 7:00pm.
