Stroke Awareness Month

Stroke Awareness Month

May is Stroke Awareness Month, a time to learn the warning signs of stroke and the importance of acting quickly. A stroke is a medical emergency, and fast treatment can save lives and reduce long-term disability.

Remember BE FAST:

  • B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance
  • E – Eyes: Sudden vision changes
  • F – Face: Face drooping
  • A – Arms: Arm weakness
  • S – Speech: Slurred speech
  • T – Time: Call 911 immediately

You can help reduce your risk of stroke by managing blood pressure, staying active, eating healthy, avoiding tobacco, and seeing your healthcare provider regularly.
